NightDive Studios' plans for System Shock have changed in the six weeks
since they last
discussed plans for a remastered version of the action/RPG, as
Polygon has word that they are now considering this more of a System Shock
reboot. "We felt that the amount of passion and resources that we are putting
into this game elevated it beyond the expectations that someone would have for a
remaster," CEO Stephen Kick tells them. "This is a full-fledged reboot of a
classic game into something new." They offer a preview of the game and the
Kickstarter that begins next Tuesday, offering some concept art. They also note
that a short playable demo will be released for free upon the launch of the
Kickstarter.
