Happy first day of summer for those of us in the northern hemisphere, and happy first day of winter to the southern hemisphere. This is often erroneously called the longest day of the year (pretty sure it's still just 24 hours), and if you view it that way, it seems sort of cruel to have it fall on a Monday. There's apparently some sort of full moon involved as well, and I saw somewhere this is the first time a full moon has fallen on the solstice in 80 years, which is a considerable defiance of odds.
