Out of the Blue

I had a weird problem with my headset that I almost posed to all of you for assistance, but I managed to work it out. I have a Razer Kraken dealie that started intermittently not carrying Skype audio, one of those weird moments when something that was working fine decides to stop. Sound still worked with other sources, and the mic still worked with Skype, but sometimes I'd get no sound. After Googling around I found the suggestion to uninstall the Razer Synapse software, and haven't had a problem since. I'm probably missing out on the "benefits" of virtual 7.1 support, but I can't really tell the difference. I guess it's an endorsement of the actual universal behavior of USB that this works without drivers, and an indictment of modern software development that a bloated companion app like this actually impedes proper operation.
