The Ship: Remasted Next Month

Blazing Griffin announces plans for The Ship: Remasted (it's a pun, not a typo), a modernized version of The Ship, the unusual floating mystery game first released in 2006 after its humble beginnings as a Half-Life 2 modification. This will be coming to Steam via early access on February 15th, and in the meantime, you can keep up with the project on this website, which offers a teaser trailer showing off upgraded HD graphics in an all-singing, all-dancing cinematic. They encourage those interested in the project to participate in the feedback part of early access, and note that loyal owners of the original game can receive a 25% discount on the update. Here's a rundown of some other points of interest:

  • The Ship originally launched in 2006 and has been enjoyed by over 1.6 million players.
  • 2015 was The Ship’s most popular year to date, with over 250k new players.
  • Development started on The Ship: Remasted in early 2015 when the team was joined by several of the original development team.
  • Blazing Griffin recently won a Scottish BAFTA for Distant Star: Revenant Fleet, also launched via Early Access in 2014.
  • The Ship: Remasted will be priced at $20.
  • Remasted isn’t a typo. It’s a pun. A delicious pun.
