There's news of more trouble at Red5 following their layoffs last month, as GameInformer says the developer of the Firefall MMORPG missed payroll last week, making for a rough holiday for their approximately 80 employees. They reproduce an email saying the company lacked the necessary funds, but they were "currently working to resolve this, during the holidays, as soon as possible." GameInformer also notes that a couple of additional layoffs recently took place there, and that there is currently a GoFundMe campaign to help raise some holiday cheer for the families impacted by this situation.
