There was a startling kaboom from nearby yesterday and the power cycled in the house. This happened out of nowhere, and it quickly happened again. The noise was strange, as while it wasn't especially loud, you could feel it in your chest. There was a pause of about 30 seconds and it happened three more times, cycling the power in the house each time. MrsBlue thought it was from a house around the corner so we reported it to 911, and when the emergency trucks arrived, we ventured out to find that a power line had come down, landing on a neighbor's car. Nobody was hurt (not sure about the car though), which is good news... this isn't a very busy street, but it seems obvious that someone in the wrong place at the wrong time here easily could have been killed.
