There is a dustup underway on reddit where
this thread states that one or more moderators from the
Star Wars:
Battlefront reddit have been removed from their positions for
impropriety.
This post links to
an article on CraveOnline discussing the situation, though this is labeled
by reddit as "misleading."
This reddit post from a former mod outlines the accusations at the root of
all of this, saying that EA representatives were able to exert undue influence
on the moderation and removal of posts in exchange for perks like closed alpha
access and other incentives. There are also many arguing that there's nothing to
see here, and that community managers will always seek to influence community
posts, that deleted posts were in violation of NDAs, and that offering the
reddit mods alpha access is appropriate to their prominent positions in the
community. Thanks Joao.
