Trine 3 Adds Free Level & Linux Support

Frozenbyte is offering a new update for Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power that adds a new map as well as Linux/SteamOS support, which has been in beta testing for a month. This video shows the new content that's been added to the game, which is also currently on sale for 50% off at GOG.com, Humble Store, and Steam. Here's word:

The new level is a mini adventure featuring the three heroes and their (or mainly Pontius's) desire for some food - a cake, no less! As a response to fan feedback, the adventure is set in the Book theme that many fans fell in love with.

Frozenbyte CEO Lauri Hyvärinen commented: "This is a free update that we felt inclined to do for our fans. We would love to continue with the Trine series and this is our first tentative step in that direction, hopefully the first of many."

A video has been posted on YouTube, where glimpses of the updated content can be seen.

Included in the November 5th update are the following:

  • A mini-adventure called "Quest for Cake"
  • Official support for SteamOS and Linux
  • Checkpoints for Lost Pages
  • A fix for the Wizard's box exploit
