Today is Columbus Day here in the U.S., a celebration of this historical figure who can be generously described as controversial. Indigenous Peoples' Day seems to have more merit, and in some areas where they commemorate that they have done away with the Columbus part altogether. With all that, this is not the most widely celebrated holiday, so I'm not sure this will have any real impact on the pace of news today.
