Armored Warfare Open Beta Next Month

Publisher My.com and developer Obsidian Entertainment announce that open beta testing of Armored Warfare will begin for everyone on October 8th, while those who have purchased founder's packs for the upcoming vehicular combat game will get in a week earlier on October 1st. They have a new open beta trailer to celebrate the news, and note that any progress or items purchased in the beta will carry over into the full game when it launches. Here's word on what the beta will offer:

Players can look forward to getting hands-on with the following gameplay features during the Armored Warfare Open Beta:

  • Over 60 modern vehicles – Many of the most powerful modern war machines mankind has produced are available in-game, divided into the following categories: Main Battle Tanks, Tank Destroyers, Artillery, Armored Fighting Vehicles, Light Tanks, and more.
  • PvP mode with 9 unique maps – Each map has a distinct terrain based on real environments, such as refineries in the desert, an airbase in the forest, a tropical island paradise, an abandoned snowy town and much more.
  • PvE mode with 25 specially designed maps – Players can join or create teams to carry out challenging missions against computer-controlled opponents, taking on missions provided by the ‘Mercenary Network.’ These missions provide progression and rewards with the same in-game currencies and progression development as PvP mode.
  • The Base – A system that will allow players to build their own “Private Military Company” base, research new facilities, upgrade them, and get special gameplay bonuses and discounts for obtaining reputation and credits.

Armored Warfare will continue to receive regular content updates in Open Beta, including new PvP maps, new PvE missions, additional vehicles through brand new dealers, considerable improvements to the Base system, and other features that will be implemented ahead of the game’s official release. All player progress and items purchased in the Open Beta will carry over to the full release.
