Hat's off to the New York Mets, as my hometown heroes actually managed to clinch the National League East title yesterday, securing a trip to the playoffs. It was certainly not how I expected the season to go, but between the continued development of a young pitching staff, some great mid-season trades, and an admittedly weak division, the team managed to play well all season, and is heading into the playoffs with a good head of steam. As Casey Stengel used to say, amazin'!
