This video from Frozenbyte
offers a further response to some of the negative feedback aimed at Trine 3:
The Artifacts of Power, expanding on
earlier comments they made about
the length (or lack thereof) of the game. With pained expressions, Kai Tuovinen
and Joel Kinnunen apologize for not communicating in advance that they planned
on splitting the story for Trine 3 (though their previous statement did say they
didn't intend it to be so short), and for not considering creating a shorter
story that would not leave the cliffhanger ending. They beat themselves up
pretty well here, and express repeated regrets over communicating how they were
proceeding early on in development to properly set fan expectations. They
indicate they are still working on a plan to recover from this going forward,
admitting it is now "pretty much do or die" for the developer as they go "back
to the drawing board, completely."
