It hit 90 degrees again in the area for the third straight day yesterday, making for an official heat wave. This was as uncomfortable as it sounds, as the east coast is not known for that "dry heat" you sometimes hear about. However, this actually inspires me to offer some gratitude about the weather, as this turns out to be our first heat wave since the summer of 2013. This explains why the air conditioner remained in the basement all last summer, and why we haven't had to run it much this year either. As I say, this inspires gratitude, and I certainly have sympathies for those living where the summer is not as pleasant (not to mention our friends down under who are in the heart of winter right now).
