GuildWars2.com reminds us that the first beta weekend event is now underway for the upcoming Heart of Thorns expansion for Guild Wars 2, ArenaNet's MMORPG sequel. Here's the post from yesterday:

Today marks the start of the first Beta Weekend Event for Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns™! The event begins at noon Pacific Time (UTC-7) and will end on Monday, August 10 at noon Pacific Time (UTC-7).

Prepurchasing Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns will automatically grant you access to this event. For more information on our testing priorities for this weekend, be sure to check out Game Director Colin Johanson’s blog post.
