I was surprised to hear a loud lawnmower running at around 9:30 am, as that
seemed a little early for a weekend morning in a quiet suburb. I wasn't planning
to report this, since I was already awake, but I was curious about whether this
was legal, so I looked up the local noise ordinance. Not only was what I heard
permitted, it would have been okay a full 90 minutes earlier, as the law says
you can't run such equipment before 8:00 am. That seems a little early to make
such a racket, but what can you do? I guess I could mow my lawn early too, but
with our old-school manual mower, nobody would notice.
