There's a follow-up on the news
that YAGER is no longer the developer on Dead Island 2, as
GamesIndustry.biz has a statement with the studio's side of why they are no
longer working on the zombie sequel. "Our
team is made of the best creative minds and tech specialists, who all share a
common identity," Timo Ullmann, managing director YAGER explains. "The team
worked with enthusiasm to take Dead Island 2 to a new level of quality. However,
Yager and Deep Silver's respective visions of the project fell out of alignment,
which led to the decision that has been made." He also says their
other announced project Dreadnaught is
still on track, and indicates they have one or more unannounced games to reveal,
perhaps as soon as at Gamescom.
