As major league baseball hits the all star break, the annual celebration of the season hitting the 57% mark (halfway would be so OCD). I have to salute the Mets for exceeding expectations up to this point, as their 47-42 record is good for second place. You have to admire that they can win without being able to score runs, but when you play in a small market like New York and can only afford the 21st highest payroll in the league, you have to be plucky.
