A post to the ManiaPlanet Blog by Florent Castelnérac has an outline from the Managing Director of Ubisoft Nadeo on what they are up to, including status reports on TrackMania Turbo, ShootMania, and Maniaplanet, saying TrackMania is their focus for now, and that the latter two projects will get more attention next year (thanks Frans). Their discussion of the racing game centers around plans for console versions, and the issues they raise and this forum thread features community discussion of all these topics. Some people talk about it as only what has been released. But for us, Shootmania is more global and includes many steps. The next one is to offer wider range of gameplay. It should be skilled at all levels but with various types and accessibility entry points. The result should be a game that is open, diverse, fun, highly skilled, with good matchmaking and beautiful visuals. And once it’s ready, we will go in the beta of Maniaplanet 4 and take more time to look at the highly skilled players wishes regarding the released version or upcoming new things made for them as well. Shootmania will benefit of the Nadeo stronger team in the years to come.
