Yesterday the Gunnar-man started looking for his new friend the deer around the corner from where we previously saw him. I was telling him he was off track when the deer appeared across the street, and, I kid you not, started trotting toward us when he saw Gunnar. They were checking each other out when Gunnar gave a "let's play" bark that scared off his buddy. We ran into him again in the afternoon, but he and Gunnar startled each other which lead to the deer being spooked by a bark again. Maybe that's for the best... as charming as this all is, desensitizing deer to dogs may not be best for their survival instincts.
