I'm not sure why it would come up, but if I'm ever out and about and for some reason need to know the height of my coffee table, I'll be able to easily tell from the nasty bruise on my shin that perfectly corresponds with the table's edge. I don't know if it's possible to hit yourself hard enough to actually break your leg that way, but I sure tried my best to either break my leg or the coffee table. Owie.
