GOG.com announces the launch of a weekly staff picks sale on five first-person shooter games, offering the chance to save up to 70%. They celebrate the sale with a giveaway, offering the 2013 remake of Rise of the Triad for free to the first 30,000 who request it. There are lots of comments indicating there are problems redeeming this offer, but hopefully things will be worked out. They also imply that a patch is on the way to allow multiplayer games with players who bought the game through either Steam or GOG.com. Here's word:
