Had a weird battery incident for the second day in a row, which makes for compound weirdness. This morning I noticed an odd humming, which I tracked down to a vibrating pillow on which I placed a heavy box yesterday, setting off the vibrating action ("But, when a suitcase vibrates, then the throwers gotta call the police" -- Fight Club). The thing is that this oddball item has been sitting around untouched for years now. At some point a long time ago I opened it up and replaced its "D" batteries, but the replacements were mostly dead too, so I moved on (who keeps those old-fashioned monsters around these days?). So somehow those batteries were too drained to operate it properly at the time, but years later managed to keep that thing mildly buzzing all night. Either I have to find the aliens beaming power into the BlueTower or get myself fitted for a proper tinfoil hat.
