Not Even One "M" in Square Enix MMOGs

Square Enix can't even claim a total of one million subscribers across three different MMORPGs, reports Polygon, saying the publisher's latest annual report (Adobe Acrobat format) reveals an unimpressive user-base for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Final Fantasy XI, and Dragon Quest X (thanks Polygon). This does not seem to be a causing them concern, however, as they state this leaves the games with "a solid revenue base." Here's word: "Three major MMO titles—'FINAL FANTASY XIV: A REALM REBORN,' which began operation last August, 'DRAGON QUEST X,' which was launched in August 2012, and 'FINAL FANTASY XI,' which has entered its thirteenth year of operation—maintain nearly 1,000,000 paying subscribers all together, and have established a solid revenue base." Japanese financial reports have a different tone than their western counterparts. Here's a moment of Zen from the management guidelines that lead off the report:

Everything in the world interacts to form a massive system. Nothing can stand alone. Everything functions with an inevitable accord to reason. It is vital to gain a proper understanding of the constantly changing tides, and to take advantage of these variations instead of struggling against them. We shall continue to work towards harmony and serve as an integral part of this ever-fluctuating system.
