Square Enix can't even claim a total of one million subscribers across three
different MMORPGs, reports
Polygon, saying the publisher's
latest annual
report (Adobe Acrobat format) reveals an unimpressive user-base for Final Fantasy
XIV: A Realm Reborn, Final Fantasy XI, and Dragon Quest X
(thanks
Polygon). This does not seem to be a causing them concern, however, as they
state this leaves the games with "a solid revenue base." Here's word: "Three
major MMO titles—'FINAL FANTASY XIV: A REALM REBORN,' which began operation last
August, 'DRAGON QUEST X,' which was launched in August 2012, and 'FINAL FANTASY
XI,' which has entered its thirteenth year of operation—maintain nearly
1,000,000 paying subscribers all together, and have established a solid revenue
base." Japanese financial reports have a different tone than their western
