Target has stopped selling Grand Theft Auto V in Australia, citing the
depiction of violence against women in the open-world action game which depicts
violence against everyone. The
Australian Broadcasting Corporation says this is the result of
this petition, which collected more than 40,000 signatures based on a
not-completely-accurate description of the game. They have an
official statement on the topic from Jim Cooper, general manager of corporate
affairs for the marksmanship-themed retailer:
