My problem installing the new drivers for my video card worked out easily enough, as in my next attempt to get them going I chose the clean install option, which took care of things nicely. I don't really have any settings I'm attached to, so maybe I'll just always choose that option going forward. Anyway, as you well know driver issues can be nightmarish, so I'm extremely happy it didn't turn out to be one of those situations.
