The Path of Exile website announces that the recently announced Forsaken Masters expansion is now live for Path of Exile, Grinding Gears' action/RPG. Also, a trailer on GameTrailers we missed last week offers a look at the hideout customization, new skill gems, and mission variations the add-on brings (thanks rist3903). Here's word on the release:

We released the Forsaken Masters expansion an hour ago and were met with an immense flood of users. For the third release in a row, the player numbers were high enough to kill our website but leave the game servers intact. Player concurrency has already broken Sacrifice of the Vaal records and is still going up! Thanks for your enthusiasm and kind words. Enjoy Forsaken Masters and remember to invite some friends to play with you. We've ordered a lot more servers to fill!
