The United States Patent and Trademark office Trademark Electronic Search System reveals something interesting about Battleborn, showing that the trademark for Gearbox Software's just-announced "hero shooter"/not a MOBA is not actually registered to Gearbox, but to Necromonger, LLC, a company located at the same Plano, TX address as Gearbox. We got in touch with Gearbox to learn if this revealed some cool spin-off label, but it turns out this is just a holding company, and doesn't represent any changes. Gearbox's Steve Gibson points out, for example, that Borderlands was originally registered to Iperion, LLC. Thanks Kristian.
