The Age of Empires website has the surprise announcement that an Extended Edition of Age of Mythology will hit Steam next month, linking a video from the end of February teasing the news while this trailer offers an actual look at the game (thanks All Games Beta). This will be an enhanced remake of Ensemble's mythology-inspired real-time strategy game originally released in 2002 along with its Titans expansion, and here's word on what's being added to the mix a dozen years later:

Age of Mythology — The game that transports players to a time when heroes did battle with monsters of legend and the gods intervened in the affairs of mortals.

Use mythological creatures like Minotaurs and Cyclopes to bolster your armies' strength. Call upon the gods for assistance in flattening enemy towns with meteors or scatter opposing troops with lightning storms.
