We had plans for the today, but mother nature had it in for us with a heavy winter storm just getting underway in these parts, which is intimidating, since I just saw a report that the center of this storm is currently over St. Louis, which is not exactly part of the greater New York area. When we were looking at this early in the week the forecast for today showed a 40% chance of some snow late in the day. Every day following that the projected chance of snow increased and the start time of the storm crept earlier so by yesterday and earlier to the point yesterday where they were calling it a 100% chance of snow to begin around 10:00 am. I got up at 7:30 and we already had an inch on the ground, and they've extended the hazardous weather outlook through tomorrow morning, so it was not a mistake to cancel our plans by any stretch. I think the replacement plan is going to involve shoveling and hot cocoa.
