A New York sports columnist (I think it may have been Steve Serby) used to write a weekly column during football season called "Mr. Loser Laments," that was filled with tales of woe of all the football bets he lost over the weekend due to improbable circumstances. I used to think this was just picking weird upsets after the fact to create a fiction of having bet on the loser, but after the late lead changes turning so many of my winners to losers lately, I'm starting to see the plausibility of it all. Watching the Jets beat the Falcons in Atlanta with the two-minute drill is just the latest, but it really brought home that this is really one of those seasons where I can do no right. Just call me Mr. Loser.
