Well, the second third of the summer is concluded, and was far milder in these parts than the first third of the season. I was just contemplating that yesterday, realizing had the summer started mild and then gotten hot, we probably would have suffered through once again without tumbling for an air conditioner. Purism aside, I think I am happier it worked out the way it did.
