I have a huge gash on my shin, and I'm a little pissed about it. I was walking the pooches when I caught a crack across the shin that was as painful as, well as it sounds. I looked to see what ambushed me, and saw there was some sort of metal fixture poking out of the ground by the curb exactly corresponding to the placement of my new wound. The reason it caught me unawares is that the homeowner at that spot had only cut the grass surrounding the outside, leaving it perfectly camouflaged by a six-inch circle of taller grass, as if they were hoping to hide the obstacle to cause the problem it did. I muttered a few choice curses as I limped away, all the time keeping a wary eye out for signs they might also have a tiger trap dug somewhere nearby. I'll never be able to understand what people are thinking sometimes.
