Playing the Knicks last night, the Celtics pulled their starters when they were down by 14 points with four minutes left in the game. I'm pretty sure I've never seen an NBA team surrender like that during the regular season, much less the playoffs, so that was pretty shocking. But I'm not going to complain, as it prevented Knicks killer Paul Pierce from pulling off some sort of miracle comeback. If Reggie Miller could score eight points in 11 seconds (actually, according to almost all accounts it was eight points in 8.9 seconds) to win a playoff game against the Knicks in 1995 after the Pacers were losing by six with under 19 seconds remaining, then I imagine the whole Celtics team should not have ruled out the possibility of coming back.
