news story at Well-Rounded Entertainment, Sony has acquired Verant interactive,
the company behind the online RPG EverQuest, and the upcoming titles Sovereign
and Star Wars Online. They speculate that this is an attempt by Sony to position
itself better against stiff competition in the online gaming arena (most notably
against Microsoft's Gaming Zone).
