Having made the generous mistake of giving some away, we are actually almost done with the gallon of chili I made just over a week ago. This prompted a painful discussion over whether this meant the next batch should be larger, so it lasts longer, or smaller, so we don't end up consuming an entire cow over a very short span. Of course we could formulate a plan that involved a more moderate approach to consuming the chili, but I think we know that's not realistic.
