Last night we noticed a problem in the basement, as there's one of those nasty sinks down there for cleaning paintbrushes and such that seems to have blown a gasket, as it was gushing water even with the faucets closed. Poking around revealed that there was no cutoff valve for this sink anywhere to be found, so it just had to run all night. We have the plumber down there right now, who confirmed I was correct that the cutoff is missing, so he's in the process of adding one as well as fixing the busted faucet. Thank goodness this happened on a Sunday, otherwise we wouldn't be getting to pay double for the repairs.
