Yesterday I wrote about the postponement/cancellation of trick-or-treating in our area. Following that theme, today it seems only appropriate to mention that last night was supposed to be the beginning of the U.S. pro basketball season, except it was cancelled thanks to the ongoing NBA labor dispute. Congratulations to the millionaires and billionaires on each side of this dispute for their latest foot machine-gunning, as they continue to do as much damage as possible to the image of a sport that so recently experienced such huge success. Clown outfits for everyone!

On the brighter side of negotiations, I got a note from DirecTV saying they've come to a deal with News Corp, so I won't have to switch to cable to ensure continued access to some of my favorite things to watch on the telly: Giants games, Archer, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Justified.
