It turns out the Mario Meets Portal 2 video released in April has inspired a real project, as Stabyourself.net offers a proof-of-concept trailer showing Mari0, a LÖVE-engine mash-up where Nintendo's 2D side-scrolling platformer uses the portal device from Valve's 3D first-person platformer series. Word is: "Yes, this is an actual game being developed - it is not a mod of any existing one. It’s coded with Löve (info at the bottom of the left menu) and will be released for free (so we don’t get stabbed by lawyers)."
