Square Enix offers revised projections for its fiscal year ending March 31st, reports MCV, saying the Japanese developer/publisher is now looking at 12 times the losses they predicted, as they now anticipate losing 12 billion yen (approximately $148 million USD) instead of the previously announced 1 billion yen. About 0.6 billion yen of this is blamed on "the Tohoku Pacific Ocean Earthquakes and Tsunami," and here's the explanation of the rest: "Under a rapidly changing operating environment and more prudent estimates of future cash flows, the company plans to write down goodwill (approximately YEN 8.8 billion)," states a company statement. "Further, as a result of introducing a tightened selection standard regarding title lineup to strengthen the revenue base of the Company’s digital entertainment segment, project development cancellation and related losses (approximately YEN 4.5 billion) are expected."
