So somewhere along the way Google Chrome implemented this little window that pops up when you click the icon next to the URL, offering information on when you first visited the site, whether your session is encrypted or not, and whether the identity of the website has been verified. However, since I've noticed this, I have not seen it report that the identity of any site has been verified. So I decided to see what happens when you check the Google itself. Sure enough: "The identity of this website has not been verified." Weird.
