Blizzard now offers a statement on the news that they had a video taken down for the World of StarCraft modification. "It was never our intention to stop development on the mod or discourage the community from expressing their creativity through the StarCraft II editor," Blizzard said in a statement found on Gamasutra. "As always, we actively encourage development of custom maps and mods for StarCraft II, as we’ve done with our strategy games in the past." Blizzard also expresses interest in seeing how the mod turns out, and say they have invited the author (who is apparently being courted by Riot Games) to their campus to meet the development team.
