A post on superannuation notes an EA job listing for a position suggesting Maxis is taking another stab at the online gaming market following the demise of The Sims Online. Word is: "Maxis is seeking an experienced Development Director to lead the development of an unannounced next-generation Online simulation game," and among the requirements is: "Has shipped at least one online PC title," and "Has shipped at least one game with an online financial model, including online stores and DLC’s [sic]." A speculative comment by superannuation sagely points out that The Sims for Facebook or SimCity for Facebook "could be a very viable threat to the Zynga empire."
