A new patch for Left 4 Dead 2 is now automatically available, announces Steam news. Among the changes in the new version is this week's new mutation, called Last Man on Earth, which is detailed in a new update on the Left 4 Dead Blog. In addition to offering the chance to date some girls who have stated this as a condition for getting together, here's more on what being the "last man on earth" offers those looking to tap into their inner Omega Man: "You will become legend to the infected as the last human left. You are the only Survivor left in the world. No split screen help. No Survivor bots. But don't worry you aren't entirely alone. While there are no common Infected, Special Infected will hunt you down and become close, close friends with you." Since this is a single player mutation, and they cannot offer the chance to play it with the developers (conveniently allowing for them to relax over the holiday weekend), they are requesting submissions to the YouTube of your best 60 second effort. That blog post also has the results of the favorite special infected poll, separated by PC and Xbox 360, saying: "The only thing we are sure of is that people love the Hunter."
