Joystiq has news that China-based MMOG developer and publisher Perfect World has acquired "a majority stake" in Torchlight developer Runic Games, one of the outfits to rise from the ashes of defunct developer Flagship Studios. Perfect World published Torchlight, and considering a Torchlight MMOG was already planned, it seems safe to presume that this will help that project go forward.
