Mytheon Beta Continues Despite Lawsuit

The Mytheon Forums announce that beta testing of Mytheon continues, in spite of a current legal action concerning the game (thanks Big Download). Word is: "Last week, a complaint was filed on behalf of True Games Interactive against Petroglyph Games regarding the development of Mytheon. Despite these activities, Mytheon will proceed through Open Beta and launch officially in the near future. We cannot provide more details at this time." The legal action is a lawsuit over the game's source code and completion, something we missed at the time when it was reported on Massively, where they say publisher True Games has sued Petroglyph, saying the developer has failed to deliver the final product as scheduled, and has made "repeated, unreasonable demands... for additional funds and concessions." They quote Petroglyph CEO Chuck Kroegel saying, "It was NEVER conceived to be a full-blown MMO, which costs upwards of $15 million and three to five years to complete. The trend, however, over the last months has been to move this game to the scope of a full-blown MMO." They also link to the full court document (Adobe Acrobat format).
