The California Chronicle states that the Supreme Court of the United States will today consider a writ of certiorari (review) regarding California's law preventing the sale and rental of excessively violent video games to children, which was ruled unconstitutional in February, 2009. This decision was appealed to the Supreme Court, who will rule on its constitutionality. "I believe the high court will uphold this law as Constitutional," says California State Senator Leland Yee (D-San Francisco). "In fact in Roper v. Simmons, the Court agreed we need to treat children differently in the eyes of the law due to brain development."
