id Software's John Carmack wrote one of his trademark .plan updates, talking at length and in great technical depth about "virtualized video card local memory." I won't pretend to understand more than half the sentences in this massive update, so here is just how John kicks off the discussion:

This is something I have been preaching for a couple years, but I finally got around to setting all the issues down in writing.

First, the statement:

Virtualized video card local memory is The Right Thing.
