Ships Ahoy - Napoleon: Total War

The Total War Website announces that Napoleon: Total War Limited Edition is now available in U.S. stores. This retail exclusive version of Creative Assembly's real-time strategy sequel contains the full game and a Steam unlock code that can be used to download two exclusive unit packs. The game's launch trailer was released earlier, and the first patch for the game is now automatically available on Steam to fix an issue with the chat room button and to add EyeFinity support. The full announcement follows.

SAN FRANCISCO (February 24, 2010) – SEGA® of America, Inc., today announced that the next iteration of the critically acclaimed Total War™ series, Napoleon: Total War™ is now available in stores as Limited Edition featuring exclusive content. The Napoleon: Total War Limited Edition is the retail exclusive version of Napoleon: Total War. This box version contains the full game and a STEAM unlock code that can be used to download two exclusive unit packs.

The "Heroes of the Napoleonic Wars" pack gathers the most superb infantry and cavalrymen who fought during the great Napoleonic battles: 10 exclusive units, which will make all the difference during key engagements, whether using formidable weapons or exceptional tactical skills. The "Elite Regiment" pack is a collection of 5 of the most elite military forces of the Napoleonic Wars, from all the major European factions. They proved their bravery, discipline and excellence in key battles and will dramatically expand the player's strategic options on the battlefield.

Napoleon: Total War builds on the successful Total War series by taking all the features from previous games such as full 3D land and naval battles, detailed campaign map, and an in depth diplomacy system but taking them a step further by adding features as a multiplayer campaign mode, a narrative structure and drop-in battles.

In Napoleon: Total War, aspiring generals have the chance to play as the legendary French general Napoleon Bonaparte or as one of his opposing factions. Battling through Napoleons military campaigns, the game will take you through Italy and Egypt, narrating the early years of the fearsome commander, while the third campaign will tell the story of his fateful drive towards Moscow and, ultimately, his showdown with the Duke of Wellington at one of the most famous battles of all – The Battle of Waterloo.

“In Napoleon: Total War you get to actually be Napoleon - to face the problems he faced, to win the battles he won, and to build the Empire he built. Or better,” commented Creative Assembly’s Mike Simpson.
