Miner Wars is now expected late this year, announces Keen Software House in a status report for this underground MMO shooter that was previously expected before the end of last year. The reasoning reflects an odd take on the term "indie," as they seem to equate it with quality, rather than publisher affiliation: "This release was intended to be an 'indie' released product. We have however decided that in order to bring the full quality to the gamers out there we will push the release until the late 2010." They also announce plans to make the Windows version of the game available before it is completed for a promotional price "that will be at roughly 1/3 of the final product price," though this plan will not apply to the Xbox 360 edition. Miner Wars will feature fully destructible environments, a single-player story in addition to the MMOG, and in a throwback, boasts six degrees of freedom.
