Approximately 30 employees of Red 5 Studios have been laid off from the California and Shanghai-based developer formed by former World of Warcraft developers, reports Gamasutra. They say: "Multiple calls to Red 5's Orange County studio were not answered, and exact headcount and layoff figures are unconfirmed." Red 5 has mostly been operating in stealth mode since being formed, and we haven't heard from this developer since late 2008, when they had a bit of a management shakeup.
